About Betty Rabe

Betty Rabe New Orleans Betty Rabe is a mom, author, business owner and founder of Charmed Etiquette, now expanded to offer children's cooking classes at her Spoonful of Sugar location in Lakeview. Her workshops are designed to enhance social skills needed in all areas of life, as well as, bring back the charm and art of Southern hospitality.

Ms. Rabe received her training at the Emily Post Institute by Cindy Post Senning. The Charmed Etiquette workshops focus on teaching children, young adults, and professionals the social skills needed to have confidence, leadership, respect and self discipline. These social skills are vital to success in all areas of life…personal and professional.

Ms. Rabe has her M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of New Orleans and over ten years of experience as an educator in the classroom and in a learning center setting. She has completed years of service in the corporate setting, as well as, being a local business owner for many years. Her experience comes from companies who are leaders of their industry, such as, American Airlines, Sylvan Learning Center and the Ritz Carlton, where she had the opportunity to fine tune her skills in customer service and professionalism. She is also an experienced trainer from the American Airlines Training Center in Dallas, TX. and Eminence Organic Skin Care in Vancouver, Canada.

Ms. Rabe has recently expanded her etiquette training to include movie set consultation. She is proud to have had the opportunity to research and consult on the dining scene and training of the remarkable extra team in the Academy Award Winning movie, “DJango Unchained” by Quentin Tarantino, filmed here in New Orleans.

Finally, Ms. Rabe is very proud of her most recent accomplishment, becoming an author. Her charming book “Mind Your Manners at the Table” is found in selected retail locations and has found a home at Eloise’s Tea Room at the Plaza Hotel in New York City. Ms. Rabe enjoys working with both children and adults. She believes social skills are important for all ages, and strongly believes that good manners offer a tremendous advantage to all who possess them in the world today.
